Our Vision and Aim

Our vision is to be recognised in our industry by not only our customers but also competitors as the number one roofing contractor in the North East, known for our professionalism, reliability and quality of workmanship. We aim to be dependable, responsive and cost effective for our customers, which in turn we hope will bring us success, profitability and a trusted reputable name. We mean to demonstrate through our proactive management and highly competent and committed workforce that integrity, ambition and determination to mention only a few are qualities and values that we possess. We hope these will guide us into the future in a similar forward thinking manner as we strive to achieve our goals. Our aim is to fulfill and exceed expectations.

History

Springs Roofing was started by Jeff Lightle in 1981 and was incorporated in 1985. From the start it provided a comprehensive range of high quality roofing services to building contractors, local authorities, housing associations and the private sector. The company has grown steadily and has built a reputation of excellent workmanship over the last 25 years. In December 2006 Springs Roofing Ltd became part of the Northern Bear group. Keith Muldoon, who had worked for Springs Roofing for 16 years, was appointed managing director.

Resources

Our greatest resource is our workforce. We have over 60 roofing operatives including time-served slaters and tilers. We also have trainee slaters and tilers on the Construction Industries Training Board (CITB) programme. All the workforce have been awarded CSCS cards (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) and most have achieved NVQ level 2 or 3 in Slating and Tiling. Our ongoing training programme is designed to ensure that all our operatives achieve their full potential. We have a very experienced management and administration team who ensure that all contracts are completed on time and within budget.

Meet Our team

Matthew Rowley

Managing Director
Joined Springs Roofing in 2005, became Contracts Director in 2008 and appointed to Managing Director in 2021. Matty is in charge of running the company, estimating, buying and surveying.

Keith Muldoon

Director
Former Managing Director of Springs Roofing, Keith has over 30 years’ of experience in the roofing industry and now subsequently heads up the Northern Bear Roofing division made up of three long-established roofing specialists in Northern England including Jennings Roofing and Wensley Roofing as well as Springs Roofing Ltd.

Paul Soulsby

Contracts Manager / Director
Over 15 years experience in the industry, Paul manages the workforce on a daily basis, he’s the on site manager for various contracts, health and safety on site and organising training for the workforce.

Richard Gordon

Quantity Surveyor / Director
Richard has been in construction for over 10 years. Deals with client applications, payment & invoicing, collation of monthly turnover, debt recovery, negotiating of accounts, contract management & admin.

Ben Ronald

Purchasing Co-ordinator
Ben joined Springs Roofing in April 2014, with previous experience of working in the roofing industry and a background in procurement and product knowledge. Responsible for co-ordinating Springs’ supply chain.

Julie Hall

Office Manager
Joined Springs Roofing in April 2009. Julie manages the office on a daily basis. She has been in the Office & Accounts Industry for over 25 years where she has gained an in depth knowledge in both areas.
