OUR JOURNEY TO NET ZERO:

Building a More Sustainable Future

Sustainability is becoming a defining priority across the construction and roofing industries. With increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and adopt responsible working practices, businesses are being challenged to rethink how they operate.

At Springs Roofing, we see this not as a challenge – but as an opportunity to lead by example.

Sustainability in the Roofing Industry

The roofing sector plays a significant role in the built environment, and with that comes responsibility. From material sourcing and waste management to transport and on-site operations, every stage of a roofing project has an environmental impact.

Industry bodies such as the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) continue to promote higher environmental standards, encouraging contractors to adopt more sustainable practices and reduce their carbon footprint.

As expectations grow from clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, sustainability is no longer optional – it’s essential.

Our Commitment to Net Zero

Springs Roofing Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This commitment spans every part of our business, including:

  • Installation, repair, and maintenance works
  • Material procurement
  • Transport and logistics
  • Office-based operations

We have established a clear Carbon Reduction Plan to guide our journey, ensuring we take measurable, meaningful steps towards reducing our environmental impact.

Understanding Our Carbon Footprint

Using 2024–2025 as our baseline year, we assess emissions across:

  • Scope 1: Direct emissions from vehicles and on-site equipment
  • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from electricity use
  • Scope 3: Wider impacts including materials, waste, commuting, business travel, and subcontractors

This holistic approach ensures we are addressing emissions across our entire operation – not just on site.

What We’re Doing Now

We’ve already implemented a range of initiatives to reduce emissions and improve sustainability across the business:

Fleet & Transport

  • Transitioning to lower-emission vans
